The Mediator . INFP-A
Adaptable. Passionate. Private. Dependable.
Adaptable. Passionate. Private. Dependable.
ADAPTABLE
āItāll work out.ā
Always one to roll with the punches, most days it seems impossible to get Ever down. He is flexible and open-minded and these talents help him accept defeat, in the sense that he never feels it. There is always another day, another way, or something else that can be done in any situation. Heās a shining example of an optimist, actually. He is also creative, a talent nurtured and rooted in his mutation, and enjoys putting his hands to things and trying new ideas. Nothing is too crazy or out there for Ever - his motto is ātry everything onceā and sometimes it doesnāt seem like thereās a limit to the things heāll do. His impulse control is rather low and heād benefit from having someone more level-headed around to reign in his spontaneous nature. While he can be both inspiring and great with these creative spurts, Ever has a low sense of self-preservation and is prone to leaping head-first into dangerous situations with little more than a passing āIāll be fine.ā
Another thing to note about Everett is how incredibly easy-going he is. He is calm and confident, enough so that people donāt often bother him, no matter how problematic theyāre being. Most problems will be met with āOk, letās deal with itā and the same steady work ethic Ever brings to most things. It keeps him level-headed and dependable, but can cause others to feel he isnāt taking matters seriously even when he is.
PASSIONATE
āShark diving? Hell yes!ā
Ever is wonderfully, gloriously alive and constantly thankful for it. He is passionate and energetic, always willing to devote himself fully to whatever has caught his attention - be it a job, hobby or person. His exuberance has mellowed in a quiter, stronger force and he isnāt prone to loud exclamations or excitement, but the passion is certainly still there. He is hard-working and determined; trying to turn him away from something he has decided is usually a losing game. Always the artist, Ever is equipped with a fair amount of perfectionism and can sometimes dote over people and tasks for far too long. He can be quite narrow-minded in his focus and miss the bigger picture going on around him, not that, that has ever bothered him. He much prefers having a smaller group of tasks and people to focus on than worrying about world-wide issues or things he canāt hope to influence. Often when working on a project he needs some outside force to snatch his attention away, or else heāll be going for days. He isnāt the best at time management, as most of the time it seems to run away with him. Now that he doesnāt have anyone waiting up for him he has no qualms working away into the night but it isnāt the healthiest lifestyle to have.
PRIVATE
āOh, Iām fine.ā
For the most part Everett likes to keep himself, to himself. He isn't a recluse or a full-blown introvert, in fact he quite enjoys reaching out to others, but expecting him to open himself up is pointless. He is much more comfortable doting on others and ensuring the people around him are happy than paying attention to what is going on with him. Everett values the relationships he has with others higher than anything else and considers most friendships to be a binding contract - he would go to any lengths for them. He is generally an easy person to talk to as he loves to listen and joke around, though by nature is quiet. He rarely instigates conversations with strangers and it can take him a while before he full opens up to any one individual. However heās pretty adept at the old āfake it till you make itā and an expert and deflecting attention when he wants to. Youād think someone social would be conversation-savvy but sadly that isnāt always the case. Everett can be bumbling and bashful, and definitely awkward at times, but thankfully his genuine nature adds to his charm more often than not. He can unfortunately come off as stupid or dense some times, not that heād care.
Being so private, Ever is also remarkably sensitive. He takes things to heart, particularly failures, and will strive to rectify them as much as possible. He accepts pretty much all praise bashfully and more often than not will shrug it off. Negative attention brushes off him like water and do not bother him (maybe it should a little though), but positive attention is much more difficult for him to accept. He has, on more than one occasion, been called a dork for his un-savvy conversations and tendency to fall apart under even the slightest bit of attention, when he accepts it. He's a great giver and a terrible receiver.
DEPENDABLE
āLean on me, buddy. Iāve got this.ā
If youāve approached Everett for help, rest assured you will be given it. Though not exactly mature, Ever is responsible and dependable - any goal he has set himself with be completed to the utmost. No matter what youāre after, Ever will maintain that heās your guy. A shoulder to cry, a first in a fight? No hassles, heāll be there. Personal opinions and beliefs are put aside when heās in service to someone else. He can be naive around friends and will absolutely allow himself to be taken advantage of; but heās always there, and heās always ready. In any kind of situation Ever is steady as a rock. He is unflappable and his calm, (not always) cool, confidence can be an inspiration to others. He is incredibly giving, bordering on altruistic, and would benefit from learning to prioritise himself every now and again.
IMPORTANT POINTS
- Born to a relatively poor mutant family, Ever grew up usually hungry and always wearing old clothes. When he was six his parents gave him a younger brother and Ever began working on the streets to bring in more money. His mother passed away when he was twelve and his father took off sometime later, leaving Ever to raise Gabriel alone. He worked as a street artist until he was fifteen and his mutation manifested, then he had to run. Bellefonte found him a short-time later.
- Did pretty poorly during his studies as he feared his power and his inability to control it. Only truly enjoyed helping out in the kitchen after classes. On his first day he dropped a pot of boiling water on his forearm (now scarred) and became determined to master the art.
- Became Bellefonteās head chef after graduation. Had a whirlwind romance with a student during this time and became swept away with it, allowing his desire to protect her to justify his possessiveness and fear of his own powers. Eventually disappeared without a word to travel the world and work in different restaurants for over a year.
- Returned to the area and took a job at Helios as the head chef. Only worked briefly before throwing in the towel due to familiar faces and old memories, and returned to the streets heād grown up on.
- Began working in whichever restaurants he could get in to, building a reputation and saving money. Worked hard to forget his old reputations and grow himself as a stronger individual. Began taking up drawing as a hobby again, though it took time and therapy.
- Opened Tuesdays shortly after the fall of Bellefonte. Got into contact with Drew Connor once again as he established Tuesdays as a safe place for mutants to get a free meal and any supplies or shelter they needed, asking the business man to send any lost souls his way.
TRIVIA
- He is a talented aquatic athlete and loves to swim and surf whenever possible.
- Has a Leonberger named Zelda.
- He used to change his tattoos every day to practice his powers and for fun, but has mostly stopped since mutants have become hunted. Currently has a paw-print from Zelda on his left shoulder, a feather on his right bicep and a recipe for devil's food cake on his right foreman he'd been afraid to forget, and now can't really remove without raising suspicion.
- The name Tuesdays is derived from Tyr, the God of War and Justice - a name Ever finds fitting considering what his restaurant is a front for.

INK MANIPULATION
Everett has the ability to manipulate ink and in some cases, animate his drawings. With concentration he can pull his drawings out of paper and animate them using his own energy. He cannot, however, animate anything more than drawings. This means that words, stories or alternate worlds within his work cannot be affected by Everett's power. The drawing also has to be complete if Ever wants to lift it and have it be sentient - that is, he needs to be able to recognize it as a living thing, as it is his imagination and ability that gives the image sentience. For example, he could not animate a blob of ink without shape, but he could animate the image of a rat or horse. Whatever he draws will take on the characteristics and personality of its real-life counterpart, as its personality is drawn from Everett's memory and expectations. Thus, a drawn rat will act as he would expect a real rat to act, a horse would act as a horse, but a blob of ink would do nothing but be a blob of ink. Once an image has left the paper Everett loses all control of it, an aspect that frightened him (and still slightly does) in his youth. Though he cannot control it anymore, the creation is still linked to him and is sustained off his own energy. The easiest way a creation can be destroyed once being lifted is by tearing the page it was drawn on, or by drawing through the image. If that is not an available option however, they are just ink and can be destroyed with a splash of water, smashing them, or pretty much anything else.
Ever can also manipulate ink from a pen, paper or anywhere else. With a strong mentality he can shape it and solidify it into shapes. While this power is largely useless, he can make a rather dandy spike or blade with it - if only temporarily. He could potentially create more delicate works such as keys with intense concentration, but it wold be useless unless he had a model to go off. Additionally, an ink rendition of machinery would never work, so forming guns, clocks or anything else would be pointless. The ink that he can manipulate is not limited by its type. Any kind of liquid ink, such as pen ink, tattoo ink or Japanese calligraphy ink can be manipulated.

Any kind of liquid ink, such as pen ink, tattoo ink or Japanese calligraphy ink can be manipulated.
LIMITATIONS
- Once images have been 'lifted' off paper Everett has no control over them beyond the decision to destroy them. While they are not consciously sentient beings they were 'programmed' with Everett's expectations for them as he drew. As such, a rat would act as Ever expects a rat to act, and a shark would act as Ever would expect a shark to act. Beyond his own beliefs, the drawings possess no free will or brain stimulation.
- His power is limited to drawings. Words, ideas, worlds or stories cannot be animated. If Ever wishes to animate an image he must first have a clear conception in his mind about what he is animating, and what it is supposed to be. For example he could not animate a blob of ink, a half-drawn duck or anything else that isn't conceptual.
- The more detailed the item, the more difficult it is to animate. When lifting an image Everett animates it with his own energy, so the larger the creature, the more energy it requires. Images with greater detail also require more energy and concentration than simple sketches but are generally sturdier.
- Though he has no control over them after they've been lifted, his creations will continue to live off his life-force. Larger creations take more energy than smaller ones, so while Ever could animate ten small rats at a time he could likely only sustain one horse as an equivalent. The ink creations can travel a radius of approximately 100 meters away from Everett before they weaken and lose their shape.
- Hardening ink requires intense concentration to both complete, and maintain. As ink does not naturally form a solid state Everett cannot maintain it for very long.
- Can only animate things that he has drawn. He could not bring a poster of Shakira to life, but if he were to draw his own version of Shakira, it would technically be possible.
SIDE-EFFECTS
- The larger the image Ever is bringing to life is, the more energy is drains from him.
- Keeping the image sustained also requires energy, though this transaction isn't felt until after the drawing has been destroyed. Once destroyed the energy tax will be taken from Ever, leaving him nauseous at best, comatose at worst depending on the size and time-frame of his drawings.
- Headaches or migraines when hardening/softening ink depending on duration and concentration needed.
- Since half his energy is taken during animation, and the other half during destruction, if Everett overestimates his energy levels or underestimates the creature he is animating, it could easily kill him.
- Near constant restlessness. When he isn't animating anything it feels like he has too much energy.
- Suffers from nightmares and has been known to accidentally animate drawings in his sleep.
