COLE MICHAEL
VALDEZ
LOOKS LIKE AIDAN GALLAGHER
Cole has seen the tough sides of life. The type of reality that takes his naivity away that was gifted along with his youth. The boy is very well aware of the dangers in the world. Thus it's no surprise if he comes off a little skeptical and defensive the first time you get to know him. Despite his sharp tongue and sarcastic remarks, Cole can be known as a pretty caring person. And is usually known as a rebel against the normal humans. He thinks he's better than everyone else due to his intelligent and sly behaviour. But aside all that he's just a young boy who skipped a big part of his youth.
Cole Valdez has only one person who he assumes as family, Ykatrina Valdez. His older sister, who has taken care of him since they were taken in an orphanage after the disappearance of their parents. Ykatrina manifested her powers around the age of 15. Cole had grown quite cautious at that, he didn’t want to be seen as a mutant and powers were in your DNA. Alas, not soon after, around his 12th year of age, his manifested too. It didn’t take long for him to find out that it was a much simpler one than his sister’s; he could jump through space. That was when the orphanage ratted them out and let them be taken away to camps, called him a ‘mutant’. That day was the day he found out not to trust anyone except for his sister, you never know what they were capable off. For fours years long he had to endure the heavy work in those camps. Thanks to his 'yellow' powers, he wasn't seen as a threat but his age really didn't help with the powers he had. Cole didn’t have much time in training, and the first attempt only took late nights alone, what mostly made him tired easily and sometimes even affected his immune system. Despite his young age, he was still forced to work as much as the others. Cleaning up and mostly carrying heavy stuff were his tasks, and if he refused -which were sometimes the case- he was thrown into a dark room where it smelled like rotting meat. His powers really didn’t help at all. They were mostly uncontrollable and frustrating. Especially since he wasn't used to the dizziness that soon followed. That was, until he met a man with quite the similar powers. Except he could turn invisible. Nothing much with teleportation, obviously. But it was easy to learn from someone who was a bit older. To learn how to focus and control it. Unfortunately, the man soon got killed after he tried to escape thanks to his powers. That was when they found out about Cole’s teleportation abilities, and took the time to place a chip under his skin. If he teleported somewhere, they could always track him down.
So he was left with his sister again, who he didn’t even see that often due to their separation with age. Finally, when the boy became 15 years old, he managed to unlock his power more and found out about what it could do and what not.
That was the first time he tried to teleport his sister. They met up right after midnight, he didn’t even have time to explain when he just did what he had to do and teleported the two out of the place with all the power that he could have. It took a good minute, though. And the camp security simply didn’t let it go unnoticed.
Since the beginning of 2019 they were on the run. That was also the moment they noticed that they weren’t a part of society, there wasn’t place for people like them. Thus the two joined the rebellion. Mostly freeing mutants and fighting humans if necessary. Though little did he know, the chip was still activated.

Teleportation
Cole's power is the ability to jump through space a.k.a; teleportation. He's able to teleport to certain places. Though he’s only able to teleport to places near him. And if he wants to teleport to somewhere else further (a village, city, place, etc.) he needs the right calculations for that. Which can be tough managing it. His full reach is a football field, and sometimes a stadium if his emotions and strength allow him. When he teleports using calculations, he has to use his fist to keep his strength at one place. Though at times, the calculations can go wrong and God knows where he ends up.
Cole teleports like using the time. When he wants to do so, he just needs some concentration and strength, which isn’t even much at this age now. When everything’s going right, he’s soon pulled into this portal that sucks him in and stops time abruptly. He moves towards where he wants to be, sometimes even changing stuff along the way to mess with others, before he jumps back in time.
How long he can stay there, is still unknown. But it’s always funny to him to use his powers like that. It’s like stopping time, but mostly just for him to move to some other place. Unfortunately, you can’t get in the portal yourself, unless you’re holding his hand and he’s willing to take you with him. It’s very unlikely since the small portal is opened due to his abilities, and closes right immediately when he enters.
Though when he’s used to where he wants to be. He just stares at the spot in pure focus and keeps his gaze locked to where he wants to go. That’s probably most likely, since the boy is rather lazy to use the portal and it takes less energy for him. Cole appears on the spot he wants to be. Though when he’s upset or easily distracted he can appear somewhere else. But he’s used to that.
This method can only be used with his own consciousness and body, he cannot take someone with him this way.
LIMITATIONS
Cole is still young, and has been growing up with certain situations that couldn’t give him the time and space he needed to train. His powers are simple, but still limited. The limit of his power will last longer with his age. But because he's still a teen, he can't use it all the time. Especially not when he teleports to places further than in his reach. Recharging is easy, it works just like running. Sitting down can already boost it up, but not enough. It is only when he sleeps for more than six hours.
Cole doesn’t know yet how many people he can teleport, he only knows that he can teleport any inanimate object as long as he’s holding onto it. He tried to teleport his sister once and lost all his powers for a whole day. Though if he continues training enough, it could lead up to three or even four people. It works like sharing energy. You have to hold on very tight, holding his hand mostly. You’ll both get sucked into the portal. You are NOT allowed to let go of him, that can be dangerous for you and him. It can lead to your consciousness getting stuck in there, and it’ll be difficult to help you back out. I guess you’ll just have to trust him. You can’t just resist teleportation, if he grabs your hand and pulls you in, you’ll have to roll with it. Just make sure to not let go.
SIDE-EFFECTS
The longer it takes to teleport, the longer the side-effects last. Mostly dizziness, disorientation and sometimes even nausea that can lead to vomiting. He's still a young kid, and hopes to experiment more with his powers in peace since he was afraid to go further in camps
When he uses all of his power, for example; teleporting someone with him or teleporting to a place quite far away from where he's currently at, the boy can get the chance of some nosebleeds and mental drain. But it's expected for that to heal in a matter of time.
He can use his power for however he wants, but as long as he’s not tense and teleports to far places. He still needs to recharge if that happens.
When he teleports someone with him -that only happened once- the person (or animal) can get even worse side effects than he does, since he’s mostly used to it. Most times it can be that they get a headache, or suddenly faint. Vomiting and disorientation is more for the ones with a weak stomach. But that subsides in just an hour or two.
