HOLD IT INSTART A FIGHT, YOU WON'T WIN They already knew. Well, that was a surprise to Roxana. Perhaps this agency was a bit more lax on people and their opinions for some reason. Or they knew that despite what Kentaro belied, he would not do anything that would upset the system or anything like that. Rox's real organization was less kind to those with ill opinion of them, even if they might not say it you would learn that you had to be careful what you said around certain people eventually. "That's how many alliances are formed. Might not like one another but have something each other wants. I have great respect for someone who knows their usefulness and is not afraid to speak their mind because of it." Roxana replies, giving a small nod as she still jogs.
She could do that in certain situations but not many given while she was a very skilled solider, they were always raising and training more so she could be replaced. Those with real intelligence where not so easily replaced. What a freeing life it must have been, knowing that no one would kill you because you served them a purpose they needed more then your death. In a way they were in a similar situation except it was more so Rox as told to be apart of the group by her real employers and was not doing it out of needing something out of them. Well, she needed information but she knew how to get that without having to be the inside person but this was what she was told to do so she had to do it.
Her eyes glanced over at her fellow jogger at his point of how she was lucky that she could keep improving her abilities. She supposed that was a fair assessment given the ones that were locked up were not technically allowed to use their powers as much. "I have to if I am to remain useful." Rox replied in a way that made it clear that it was a fact. If she did not keep getting stronger and improve what she was able to do, she would be tossed aside. She would be useless. Perhaps not to the group she and Ken worked under now but to the ones who her family had been working for for years now. It made sense that by understanding others powers he would be able to understand his a bit more.
Rox was curious about others powers but not to the level of thinking it would help her understand her own better. She just needed to know peoples weakness so that her ability would allow her to win in the end. At least his desire for knowledge was not as selfish as hers. "Would not just using your power more give you that same understanding?" Rox asked, slightly confused. Why did he need to know how others powers worked to understand his better?

HOLD IT INSTART A FIGHT, YOU WON'T WIN Her fellow employee of the ones who held the cards was right. Well at least her first level of employers, not the ones that were really calling the shots for Roxana specifically but Kentaro didn't have to worry about them for now. Of course in her next report she would mention him and no doubt they would think he was useful. Perhaps she would have duel bosses like she did, but she did not know if Ken would like that. The way he spoke now made it clear that he was not in full agreement with how things were and Rox was surprised to hear him speak out loud about the matter. "Bold of you to say such things out loud in front of another guardian. Not worried that I could be a loyalist?" Rox asked.
She was not, but she was curious why he had felt comfortable enough to share his thought with her on the matter. It was not like he went into detail or anything or outright said he hated the system and wanted to do away with it. Yet, people had gotten in trouble for even hinting at the system not being perfect or what they wanted. Rox had, but it was nothing more then a verbal warning and she was not in the least bit afraid of it. If she had been ordered to by her actual employers, she would kill ever last person here. Well, she let those who were forced here or just trying to survive go most likely but the rest who really wanted and believed in this system she had no issue eliminating.
They resumed their jog with the question of what her passion was. The blonde remained silent for a moment, her eyes squinting briefly in thought on it. "My powers...I like training and improving my skills with my powers ad making them more useful to me and others. Developing skills that will result in praise." Rox answered. She was not sure if what she said made any sense, it just kind of fell out of her mouth the way it played out in her brain. She was trying to be careful of how she worded it. Yet in sort, she basically liked to be skilled and powerful to result in praise.
"Not really as...good as a passion to understand others powers." Rox replied. Her passion didn't even really feel like a passion, more like a want that she did because she liked praise. Did she even have a real passion?

I WON'T PLAY YOUI WON'T FACE YOUR FATE AGAIN. "Fair enough." Roxana replied back simply. He dodged a bullet;possibly literally, by not going to one of the mutant schools across the world. She still saw that they had their benefit, which was why when they started taking them over well it did catch her by surprise. Rox could understand wanting to have control over the schools but not outright destroying them. It seemed like a waste when you could re-purpose the school to make super soldiers in a way. It was still not too late for things to turn around and go in that direction, she honestly didn't know what the plan was. It was not her place to ask; she had, and that was the reply she was given so she remained a good solider and just did whatever was told. A small part of her felt bad at glaring at him like that, to see his reaction as a result made her feel like she should have apologize.
She would not, at least not now. She was still angry but now the anger was morphing into anger towards herself for letting her emotions get the better of her. That rarely happened, especially just pure anger like that. That kind of anger only really came out once in a blue moon and normally someone would die or get hurt as a result. Thankfully this was just a glare and Arnaud understood and went no further on the subject. Perhaps another time she woudl talk about it, perhaps not. Time would tell. His response to not having felt guilt was indeed cold-hearted but a part of Roxana could relate. She listened to his reasoning why he helped her and it made since, go against the larger group because it would appear that they had the advantage. They did in a way, but Rox still didn't feel fully satisfied for the answer.
Was it just one good deed or to save his own skin someway. No one did something for nothing, but she would not keep asking too many questions on the matter. He had saved her, she owed him, and she would pay him back. She still asked if he remembered something else, anything of importance. She would almost breath a sigh of relief, if only on the inside at hearing him talk about not remembering too many details. She didn't care about finding the people so there was no need to have Arnaud remember what they looked like. Rox was satisfied now, at least she was until he mentioned that she had darker hair. The made tense up once more but on the outside she remained neutral for a moment. The way he said it made it seem like he didn't think that it was a big deal.
Did she even have to say anything about it. If he didn't think it was a big deal then she was safe from him putting it together on why someone like her would need his help. He didn't even know her power so she supposed she was worried about him having a higher level of leverage over her for nothing. Dessert? "I could get something to go." Rox replied, picking up the little menu of the desserts that was already on the table. She had nothing else to ask and she didn't know if Arnaud did but she assumed he was ready to go.

I WON'T PLAY YOUI WON'T FACE YOUR FATE AGAIN. He was younger then her, that had to be the only reason he didn't go to any of the mutant schools and possibly whoever was looking after him at the time hid him. It was possibly. Normally the mutant kids would be found no matter what but then the school was attacked and well, not many people were worried about trying to find mutant kids when they were busy trying to keep the school from falling or the students and staff being taken to the camps. "Unfortunate that you never got to go to a place to help you better control your abilities but you might be dead or at the camps if you had gone." Roxana replied, nodding slightly at the thought. He was luck in a way.
Yet, it still was a shame that he never got to experience it, it was helpful and even if you had mutants for parents they could still only teach you so much versus going to a school where there were so many powers to see, go up against, and learn from in order to improve what you were capable of. That how her parents explained it back to her eldest sister when she first came into her powers. It made her think for a moment about the ones that were still free, who was teaching them and the young ones that they found before people like her found them first? Her thoughts were cut off at Arnaulds question, blues eyes actually glaring at him for asking that question.
He had a right to ask that question, many would be curious but it was not something she wanted to talk about. It was weird that she actually felt angry at him for even asking. Not much that others said made her angry unless it was a question of her abilities or an insult to her family. This was just a question and yet she had not been able to keep herself from shooting him a glare. She didn't answer, she would not answer, and the glare was going to have to be sufficient enough of an answer. Instead she went back to eating what remained of her salad and her water before asking her own question. It was a relief in some way to hear that he didn't really know who she was when he had decided to help her back then. His answer didn't really satisfy her.
"So...you mostly just got involved because I saw you and you would have possibly felt guilty about it later?" Rox asked, very confused. Had she been in his shoes she would have helped him, but that was in her nature and she would not want anything back in return. Yet he did, so why help if he didn't think he could get anything out of her. AS for him helping her, she honestly was happy that he did. It was less that she could not handle herself and more so she didn't want to kill any of them. It would have resulted in getting in trouble plus again he saw her as she saw him and it woudl not have looked good if he saw her kill someone with her bare hands.
"Anything else you remember about that night?" Rox asked, looking for something specific. She had a hood on at the type, but he could have still saw that her hair was black then and not practically white like it was now. She needed to know if he had noticed that at all.

HOLD IT INSTART A FIGHT, YOU WON'T WIN It would be impossible. Right, Rox thought as much. Even if someone had a similar power to another, there was always something specifically about their power that made it different. At least for physical based powers, she was not sure if the same could be said for mentally based powers. Perhaps the only difference there would be how much control another person had but if someone could move things with their mind and someone else could do the same thing, well there was little that made the powers different in Roxana's mind. She didn't say anything, just made a mental note and kept jogging at least until Kentaro started to slow down. Was he tired already? Or was he just done running and wanted to do more talking or something else?
She remained silent however, not noticing that he was out of breath and if anything it just seemed like he was deep in thought. When Ken eventually started to speak, that made it clear that he was in fact thinking. Blue eyes looked to him was he pointed out that while he could not relate to having a power that could kill someone, that he pretty much found it interesting all the same. "Sounds like they picked the perfect person for the job then." Rox replied. If he clearly was interested in his work and he wanted to know more for himself then for the protect or money he was given well he was ideal for the job.
The kind of person that would put his heart into his work and thus more time and care. Perhaps not kindness and care in the eyes of the people he was studying, but for the ones in charge of Ken, they had to be pleased with him. She gave a slight motion with her head for them to pick up the pace so they could reach they spot that she planned for them to turn around and head back. There was an apology. "No need to apologize. I find it...interesting to see where people have passion and how they view the work they are told to do." Rox replied, and it was an honest answer.
Passion was...difficult for her to understand, there was not much she had passion in doing besides pleasing her family and employers but even that seemed to wain at times. Hearing what other people cared about and what they desired just gave her perspective.

I WON'T PLAY YOUI WON'T FACE YOUR FATE AGAIN. He laughed at her, well that was to be expected. Her feelings were not hurt or anything by it but it did make it clear that he was in fact telling a joke. It was so hard to tell with certain people, even less when they would use sarcasm. She disliked sarcasm the most out of all forms of communication. Why could people not just say what was on their mind or at least make it clear what they were trying to say. She didn't care if it was a truth or a lie, just as long as it made sense and they were clear about it instead of doing riddles or jokes about it. They were in agreement about not having children just yet and if she was honest she didn't think Arnauld to type to even want kids. What would he get out of having children anyways?
She didn't say any of that, she felt like it would be rude. So instead she just gave a simple nod as she took another bite of her salad, practically done with it at this point. It was not a very big salad and perhaps her bites were big. It was not like she was using her most fine dinning eating skills, there was no need. Not that she was eating like a slob, but she was taking mouthfuls. Hearing that she was just a good little solider caused her to freeze for a moment and almost fall even more silent then she already was. She liked to think she was a good little solider, she tried to be, but it had not always been easy the moment she had started going to Bellefonte.
Just the words brought back pain with them, pain associated with memories of being punished when she had not been a good little solider. It was weird given she never had a flash of the past like that, well memories yes but not to the point that she felt like she was reliving that pain. Weird. "Yes...I'm a good solider." Roxana replied in a very monotone and almost robot voice, ready to receive orders. It seems the man she owed a debt to didn't really fancy being called what he was, perhaps he felt like he didn't just interact with everyone to use but Rox had no way of knowing. She could only go off of what she observed in that moment with him there and now. Yet she was tired of questions, tired of talking and wanted him to do a bit more talking and answer some questions, granted she didn't really have any in mind.
He answered his own question he asked her and it caused Rox to raise a brow at hearing that he didn't go to any mutant school. "Never? Was that by choice or..." Rox asked, figuring everyone had to have gone to at least one of the school. Save for the really young mutants but he was not that young, was her? He gave her permission to ask questions but that basically he might not answer them. What questions did she have? There was one that really came to mind. "That night...the night you helped me out...why? Did you somehow know that I could be useful to you?" Rox asked. That was what she really wanted to know, why would he help her.
What did he even remember of that night she was powerless and came across a group of people that even with her skill she had struggled with.

HOLD IT INSTART A FIGHT, YOU WON'T WIN Roxana kept her relaxed pace jog, she could go much faster but she was content with this speed. Plus it allowed her to talk and learn something new which was always good. While she preferred to not have to think about too many things at once, it was still nice to have a lot of information to pull from in case it was ever needed. Never knew when knowing about someone working on some cure for a toxin could come in handy later on in her line of work. Her blue eyes remained forward but still listening to what the older gentlemen had to say towards her question.
It was less of a vaccine and more of like medication you would take every morning, which made sense. Would be a tall order to come up with something that would permanently block someones powers when powers themselves were ever changing to a certain extent. More accurately it was just the user gaining more control over their ability and thus being able to use it to its full potential and less of the power actually changing. "Do you think they would allow you to create it? It's practical in terms of dealing with that specific mutant but would you be able to apply it to all toxic mutant based powers?" Rox could not help to ask.
Probably should have been more found on the run but her interest had been peeked and she wonder just how much Ken was capable of. There was silence at one point between the two of them, which Roxana's was fine with and figured perhaps he wanted to just focus on the run. She was okay with that. Then he spoke, making it clear he likely had been lost in thought about the topic. "I can't personally relate but I figure that would be unfortunate. You sound like you really care about this boy or are you like this with every person you study?" Rox asked. She meant nothing bad by it, she just wanted to know.
Most people who study powers cared less about the person behind the power and more about the power itself.

HOLD IT INSTART A FIGHT, YOU WON'T WIN It was a pretty pleasant day, warm enough to want to be outside but cool enough thanks to the breeze coming in from the sea that it would not be miserably. They likely work up a little of a sweat but they would not be dripping wet, unless they jumped into the ocean which they could do but that would be up to Ken. Roxana was content with just a light jog along the shore, not wanting to do anything to high end given she had her own intensive workout. A workout that she preferred to do alone, but something like this was nice to do with someone else.
It didn't take too long for Kentaro to get used to running on the ground and Rox was pleased that he was keep up with her and even seemed like he could handle a conversation. Not everyone could talk while doing a light job, they had to focus on running, but he seemed fine. Still, she would avoid talking too much. She was however curious what he was working on and while it could wait, she wanted to hear about it to have more to think on when they were done running. The boys power sounded familiar to a girl Rox had knew back at school.
People had been working on a cure for her as well back then and it seemed Ken was successful with one for this boy but wanted something more? What more could he want then a anti-toxin. "Like a vaccine?" Roxana asked. She was by no means a science but she at least knew a little bit of something so she could fake it whenever she was in that kind of role. She was better suited to following orders and using her physical body to complete a job. That was not to say she was a complete brute and no brains but the less thinking she had to do the better.
Less thinking meant less likely to make mistakes or divert from what was desired.

I WON'T PLAY YOUI WON'T FACE YOUR FATE AGAIN. She listened as he explained that with time people would get over their obsession which made since given most mental powers worked that way. They lasted for a time and then that was it unless they kept using their power which would no doubt be exhausting after a while. "As long as they don't follow you, I can see how that would work." Roxana said as she worked on creating a small crystal ball within her pocket that one of her hands rested in. She felt a little on edge still and always creating with her power helped relax her a little bit. Plus she was using her power which meant she would be quicker to react with it should anything occur that needed her to use her abilities.
Roxana had been complemented before but it certainly was for her skills ad less on her looks unless she had a job to seduce someone in which looks played a role. Even still, they never really clicked on her mind when she was working because she was playing a role but when she was just herself it was weird to hear such things. She didn't really know if she should take it as a complement or not but assumed he meant no ill by it. His next comment had to be a joke then since she was certainly not talking about the two of them having children. Rox hesitated a moment, trying to make sure that he was joking by reading his facial expression.
"Joke, correct?" Roxana just ended up asking, just wanting to be sure so she could pick up on his face for when he was joking to keep in mind for their interaction from here on. "I will eventually need to have children, but I'm the youngest so it's not a priority at this time." Rox did clarify, just in case he was not joking. She was the youngest after all and it was not like she was absolutely needed to pass on the genes. Her oldest sister was already taking care of that and there as talk of matching her brother to someone. As for her stance on who she worked for, Rox didn't really care at the end of the day what people liked to hear. She only cared about succeeded in the task and even that desire was starting to wane as she felt herself...well feeling more. The young woman's shoulders shrugged slightly at the first statement followed by her moving her chicken around in the dressing, trying to mix the salad up a little better.
They always had everything just sit on top of the lettuces instead of properly tossing it. "As long as I'm successful in the task given to me, I'm pretty much free to do what I want and when I want. I have not had a follower in a while and if I did, I would lose them." Roxana answered. To her personally none of her answers were giving anything away that was a secrete so she was fine sharing. However, she was getting tired of talking given the fact she was not one for too much talking. She tried but she honestly preferred to listen and make short comments. "Fair point." Rox simply replied in response to Arnaud's words of having too much confidence also led to losing battles. It was indeed a balancing act in terms of having hope and too much confidence. A brow raised at the young man's next words.
"I never called you cute and you are one." Rox pointed out, giving a general gesture at the situation with her salad fork. "I wen to several. You are asking me a lot of question. How about you tell me a bit more about yourself before I say anything more." Roxana said, partly wanting a break from talking but mostly because he was asking a lot and she felt like she needed to know a bit more about him. [googlefont=Bitter]

I WON'T PLAY YOUI WON'T FACE YOUR FATE AGAIN. The young ma had a hope that his power would never go that far, but it didn't seem like he knew for certain if that could ever be a result. Well, even in uncertainty she could still see how it would be dangerous and by his story of how he lost his job showed it still came with its risk. However, that did bring up the question again with what he used his power on if he said that it was all just his natural charm. Or was that the aspect that he could not control, that when he was with someone his power leaked to them in a way? Roxana was not certain why she even cared about the details of his power and a part of her didn't want to ask. If she knew, she would have to report it, and if she reported it that would just increase the chances of someone wanting Arnauld for their own person use.
"Indeed. Can never be too certain how people will react." Rox replied and left it at that. She was certain that Arnauld knew it would not be wise to use his powers on her and she hoped he would keep that sense of intelligence about him. All she knew for certain was she was happy she had a physical ability and not a mental one like others she had met. It felt safer to have the control over your ability physically, tangible, and in your hands then it just being there and only seeing the effects but not the power itself. Rox blinked several times at Arnauld response to her not calling him ugly and that she herself was easy on the eyes. Easy on the eyes? "Well, I mean you have features that most would find appealing and likely result in good looking children." Roxana pointed out.
Granted looks was not how 'relationships' worked in her family. It was all about their mutants powers and what they would likely pass down to their children. He would not be an ideal partner by her family standards. "And...thanks?" Rox then said, relaxing she didn't thank him for the complement. It was weird, getting a complete from someone she was not tasked to seduce or anything like that. She was not certain if she liked it or not and that confused look was clear on her face for a moment or two before she sipped at her water again and regain her composure. She certainly was not the type to lose herself over a crush, or at least not lose herself in wanting to do anything for them. More so lost in who she actually was and having an identity crisis when it came to caring for someone outside of 'the job'.
"Always have to think ahead. No one holds power for ever, things always change. It's the way of the world." Roxana replied as she shurgged her shoulders sightly. Now what side she would end up on, she could not say. Mainly because she honestly didn't know, she just followed orders so it was hard to say where she would end up. She could make guesses but she had been wrong before on what her organization wanted. She knew they would go for this route because the more information they had on mutants, the better. If he was expecting more out of her on that subject, he was going to have to try a lot harder. The look she received from him by her question was too be expected, but she was still curious as to what he had to say. Before he started talking their food arrived and Rox already started to take a few bites, having actually gotten pretty hungry with this whole conversing thing going on.
"Thinking like that is what lowers your chances. Lots of battles have been won by the lesser number on the belief of winning alone." Rox pointed out. That was not like the full story of it, but it felt right. Humans themselves were a great example of just the drive to survive and get what they want, it led them to be at the top of the food chain. The power to just keep going at something no matter how difficult the odds were against you was what changed things more often then not. "Plus lovers don't live that long. Unless you are a lover of the ones with the power." Rox pointed out, followed by taking a few more bites of her salad. She was certain he could infer that the best lover to have in this case, would be the on who he knew would win in the end. He was already applying it in a way, by having her owe him he was aligning himself to a 'side' that would ensure he was safe. [googlefont=Bitter]

HOLD IT INSTART A FIGHT, YOU WON'T WIN Roxana took another deep breath, just enjoying the moment for a little while longer after Kentaro pointed out that he didn't want to sit at all. That was fair, if she had to sit in a room all day just using her brain, she probably go stir crazy. No, she would go stir crazy, hell she was going stir crazy not being able to go full out with her ability of late since most targets came in easy enough or it didn't require that much effort. It was why she pretty much wasted her power making that bolder, of course she had so much power still left in her but it was still kind of a waste to make it in the first place.
"Alright. Today we are going to be running on the beach. The sand makes it hard to get good traction, along with the water washing it add a secondary source to go up against." Roxana replied as she started to remove her shoes, not really looking forward to stepping in the sand but well it was the workout. It just always felt so weird and in a way she felt connected to it o some level. Likely because of her ability but it was weird feeling the connection through her feet and not her hands.
"You can place anything you don't want covered in sand on this crystal bolder, it should last long enough before we finish." Roxana added as she removed her jacket to reveal a short sleeved white shirt. She still wore a pair of jeans, but they were a very loose pair that was easy to move around it. It was a bit colder by the sea so she was not going to go down to her shorts or anything like that. They would start off with a light jog first, no need to overwork themselves right off the bat. As soon as it looked like Kentaro was ready, Rox would start to jog away, keeping her pace even with the researcher.
"What are you working on right now?" Rox asked, curious but understood if it was one of the jobs he could not talk about.

THE FIGHTING NEVER ENDSI CAN'T FACE THE DARK WITHOUT YOU. Evelyn's words were wise and clearly calculated for the best outcome in the situation that they were up against, but that didn't mean Rox agreed with her. Splitting up allowed them to search more ground, to increase their chances of running into him but the biggest risk of course was one of them getting hurt. Rox personally felt pretty confident she could handle herself, no matter who she went up against and with the power to freeze a person, she figured that Evelyn would have been fine as well. Yet, it was indeed reckless and Rox was not certain why she felt the need to be reckless of late.
This was not the first time she just wanted to take a route that would result in possible combat. Perhaps she felt like to make her job not feel as bad, she needed a justified reason to be doing any of this. Then again, it was on orders and she needed to follow them. "Reports did state that everyone that has gone after him so far has ended up hurt or killed. You are right, I apologize for asking so a foolish question." Roxana spoke up, running a hand through her hair. She needed to get her focus back, remember that it didn't matter how she felt about it, and that she had a job to do.
The elevator was about what you expected, basic, and it didn't even have any elevator music so it was mostly just silence between the two of them again. Rox didn't mind the silence but she still did not enjoy elevators and it had dawned on her that it had been a while since she had been in these metal boxes being pulled by wights and electricity. Blue eyes looked at the photo that was being handed to her now, something she probably should have asked to look at before they had even gotten this far. Wow, she really had not been on top of her game ad working with Evelyn was making that clear.
Perhaps she had been pared up with the other women on purpose for that very reason, she would ask about it later. "You would think in this day and age everyone would put an investment down to have higher quality cameras everywhere." Roxana said as she looked over the photo closely, trying to memorize every detail on the mans face. It would make so many crimes and issues so much easier and quicker to solve if people just had better cameras. Hell, they were not even that expensive these days. The elevator reached their floor, doors slowly opening and just as their was enough space a man rushed in.
Their target. Well it looked like they would not to have to go searching for him very far. It didn't even look like he was aiming for either of them in particular, but he was certainly bull rushing his way towards them. Rox quickly sidestepped to ensure she was out of the way as the rather large guy barreled into the back wall of the elevator, leaving a nice dent. [googlefont=Bitter]

HOLD IT INSTART A FIGHT, YOU WON'T WIN Roxana sat outside with her legs crossed and her hands resting in her lap, much like a meditation pose but a little lazier. She sat on a medium sized crystal bolder looking thing she had made near the edge of the island so she could sit near the sea and not get sand everywhere. Sand always got everywhere. It was nice to sit in the silence; silence being no voices, and just the sound of the water rolling in and out along the shoreline. It was peaceful and almost made her forget where she was and the world she lived in. A part of her wanted to go back, to the time where things were simple and she was not working through so many third parties.
Back when she just collected information or did a task for her organization and not what she was doing now, working in another organization for the organization. It would have been fine if this was a temporary thing, but she was fully expected to work here and all that her organization wanted was the usual information collection. She wondered what the end game would be this time. Wait and see if the mutants would rebel and then switch sides? Or was this purely a way to collect mutant information on a larger scale. Or was there something else?
Footsteps approaching made her thoughts about the bigger picture stop and go back to why she was here in the first place. Yes, it was pleasant to be out in the sun and be warmed by its rays, but that was not why she was here. She was meeting a fellow Guardian by the name of Kentaro Itonokogiri, a person she had interacted with several times now and she felt they got along well enough. He was smart and useful, not that she would ever use him for his power, but it still made him someone that was very important and someone her organization told her to keep a close eye on. He had talked to her about working out to stay in shape so every so often when they both had time off they would meet up to do that.
She didn't see why he felt the need to stay in shape, when he should be safe inside a building most of the time. But, it was what he wanted and she was free so she didn't mind. Plus she got to hear what he was researching about when he was allowed to talk about something or felt like it she supposed. She was still not sure his gain and angle on their relationship but she had gotten used to interacting with people to the point now she enjoyed whatever interaction she could get from time to time.
"Would you like me to make you one and we can sit for a while? Or would you like to get right into training?" Rox asked as she tapped on the crystal boulder, blue eyes looking towards Kentaro once he was closer.

I WON'T PLAY YOUI WON'T FACE YOUR FATE AGAIN. Roxana honestly was starting to feel that Arnauld was not such a bad guy after all, clearly he was only using her but if he was not then it would be even harder to interact with him. Roxana never really knew how to deal with people who didn't want to use her in some way, that was the way of the world. She just hoped she was appreciating him being...well honest and that it was not his power making her feel a little more at ease. It very well could be his power, but she hoped like most users that had abilities that effected others mentally and physically that if you were on guard against it; it would make it a bit more difficult for you to be effected by it.
"Hmm..." Roxana let out a thoughtful sound at Arnauld's statement about his power being more dangerous to him then it would be to her. Was that really true? To have someone bend to you will in a way was a pretty powerful ability but they all did have their drawbacks. "I suppose if someone became obsessed with you to the point they wanted to kill you so no one else could have you...that would be a drawback. Does your power even go that far?" Roxana pointed out and then asked. She knew his power; yes, but not the specifics of how it worked for him and the negatives. Others could have his power and it work differently, so she didn't want to just assume.
His next comment might have made her chuckle, if Rox was the kind of person that would just casually chuckle. She was not, but she did get that he was joking. Or...was he? "I would assume it plays some role in it, but you are not bad to look at so natural charm could play a role." Roxana replied after thinking on it for a few seconds. Could she say he was attractive? Maybe, she was still not certain on the whole liking people outside of it being her job to like them that specific kind of way. She had...crushes you could perhaps call them but she could at least pinpoint it was not looks that made her start to feel that way. Everyone seemed average until she got feelings for them, which she highly doubted would ever happen again.
Rox didn't mind him staring back, he was probably doing it to show he was not going to back down, but his only two options where to stare back or avoid eye contact. Arnauld stated what she was hinting out when talking about how it was hard to convince people to work for the Guardians. "Any of them could work in terms of a comparison. Humans honestly don't learn from history. It all repeats over and over, just someone new is the target." Roxana replied, taking another sip of her water. They were not killing all mutants, but they were certainly killing 'Red' ones and they had them in camps, and labeled them with colors. How could one not make the comparison? Did she realize what she just admitted being?
"I'm nothing but a solider. When the next stage to this all happens, I will continue to be a solider. Forever." Rox replied. Not that she was not trying to accept blame or anything like that, but it was the truth. She didn't have a side, she just followed the orders she was given. And the ones who gave the orders didn't have a side other then 'the betterment of them', so to speak. At least food would be coming soon enough with both of them having ordered now. To think she came here to talk and expected to be asked more personally questions and now they were on the topic of the state of the world and how it was all to similar to events in the past.
She desired a subject change, if only to not have to think about it all, to feel that odd sensation in her gut thinking about how before this happened how she played a role in it happening in a way. Was it more annoying then if it was just having to deal with it being just one of the options? Rox didn't answer, she didn't even look at him. Her blue eyes remaining on her water as one of her hands closed into a fist, creating a crystal animal within her hand as her mind wondered for a bit.
"How can you just stay out of it all?" Roxana asked. She understood the whole concept of being under the radar and looking out for yourself, but she didn't understand how he could just avoid it all. Not in the literal term but how he didn't feel the need to put a stop to it, to join it, or well anything besides just live his life. [googlefont=Bitter]

AND I'LL SURVIVEPARANOID, I HAVE LOST THE WILL TO CHANGE. Roxana was not certain if she would have gone about all of this like Theodore, actually she was certain she would not have. She would have tried to sneak and find him late in the night and if sneaking was not an option then she would have just captured him using her power, or knocking him out with close combat. There were really so many ways to deal with a situation, so she could not really say one way was better while another was not. As long as the job was successful at the end of the day it didn't really matter how it got done. Unless you were told to do it a specific way, which they had not been so it was fine.
Granted, Rox was not really certain if it was wise to taught someone that you wanted to capture without a fight. Taunting never really worked well if you wanted to avoid a fight. Unless...perhaps Theodore wanted a fight. Now she understood, make him think they didn't have powers to make it seem like an easy win. Well, even if that were true, would the mutant really fall for a group that had captured so many mutants before losing a fight jut because they were human. Surely one would be suspicious to say the least but the look on the other mutants face made it clear that he was going to try and win what he viewed as an 'easy fight'.
It was not a long fight at all, kind of disappointing but smart given the less time wasted the better. Perhaps just a small part of Roxana wanted it to be difficult, to actually have to try. "Nicely done." Roxana spoke up as she stood up and no longer bothered to keep her crystals growing underground and towards the now unconscious mutant. It was her backup plan but it was not longer needed and the hidden crystals would just turn to dirt anyways so no one would ever be the wiser. The blondes head tilted slightly at the question, but only for a moment.
They had not agreed upon anything like that, but she supposed it didn't hurt to carry the guy and it would give her something to do. "Very well." Rox replied as she moved over and picked up the unconscious mutant with relative ease. She didn't have super strength or anything but she was fit and if you placed a person properly over your shoulders you could carry a lot more weight. "Is this how most of your encounters go? You talk them into doing something you want and taking them out quickly?" She asked as she started to walk towards base since they had no reason to hang out here and risk the captive waking up before they could get him locked up. [googlefont=Bitter]
