Before the fall of Bellefonte, Erika was a social, energetic and fun-loving young female. She loved meeting new people and had a friendly demeanor that made it incredibly easy for her to make friends with almost everybody. Though, behind the friendly exterior, she was prideful, stubborn and a tad reckless, who did everything in her power to gain the favor of her mother.
After the fall of Bellefonte, however, Erika asked Ellen to use her power on her, to put a wall between her emotions connected to many of her memories of Bellefonte, which has left her–while not entirely emotionless, a tad more cynical, reserved, rational and calculating. She's still somewhat friendly, and still has the ability to feel things, but she isn't nearly as warm and passionate as she used to be five years ago.

DREW CONNER » EX-BOYFRIEND: The two spent the later years of their lives at Bellefonte together–and while they started out not particularly liking each other, it quickly grew into a friendship based upon mutual understanding. Eventually, the friendship blossomed into love and the duo was inseparable until the fall of Bellefonte where the duo broke off their relationship and haven't spoken together since.
EVERETT KING » EX-BOYFRIEND: Erika met Everett when she was still in high school, and the two started a whirlwind romance. It didn't last for very long before Everett up and left, and disappeared without a trace.
FELIX NICHOLAS » BEST FRIEND: Erika and Felix have been friends ever since Felix joined Bellefonte, and the two quickly became close friends–a friendship that would last and live through hard teenage years. The two remain close to this day.
ELLEN BANKS » BEST FRIEND: Erika and Ellen have known each other for as long as they can both remember. Being from influential families who both resided in Kalispell, the duo went from childhood friends to best friends in the blink of an eye. While the two have had their troubles over the years, they still remain closely knit to this day.

Evelyn is a stoic character who has never allowed emotions to cloud her judgement. She's exceptionally intelligent and rational, and favors using an objective sense of judgement over a subjective one. While she isn't incapable of emotions, she isn't one who lets them show easily–nor does she allow herself to be carried away by them.
Getting to know Evelyn on a personal level can be very difficult and can be compared to banging one's head repeatedly against the wall. She keeps people on an arm's length and doesn't care about the suffering of others, unless it directly affects herself. Turning her back on mutants in favor of the Guardians was a rather easy choice for her, as she strongly believes that only the strong will survive in the end.
